If your company doesn't have a strong retention plan, then it better have a successor lined up for the CFO position. ExecuNet's findings reveal these financial executives have one hand on the purse strings and the other on the doorknob.

Senior-level finance executives, more so than any other function, are thinking about leaving their current organizations, monitoring the market or active job search, and are taking the steps to prepare. The economic challenges of the last few years have pushed them to their limits, and they are reportedly ready for roles that put them closer to the center of business strategy.

With the CFO in a position that is so pivotal to organizational health, this Financial Executive Briefing is a reading imperative for any senior business leader.

would like to resolve the seeming contradiction in your set up;CFOs as both "pivotal to organizations" and yet wanting to leave to get closer to business strategy. There is, typically, no executive closer to the heartbeat of strategy and execution than the CFO.
