Top 10 for 2010

Comments (3)

Can we legitimately report the most popular for the year if our blog is only six months old? Having been a business network since 1988, ExecuNet has always been ahead of our time. Here are the articles that captured the most reader comments and attention in the short time we've been publishing:

1. Easy to File Charges But...

2. When Bad Interviews Happen to Good Candidates

3. The Scam Artist All—Star List

4. LeBron's Leaving

5. Do Good Without the Thought of Payback

6. Job Search: Take Two

7. Chris Rock's Guide to Job Search

8. Job Search Success Wooden Style

9. Do the Impossible — Ignore the Lizard

10. Networking Lessons from the Frankenstein Monsters

And since we're heading into 2011, let's add one more to the list:

11. To Do List: Change Your World

It's not too late to add your own voices and opinions to these posts, and others you’ll find on the site pertaining to executive business success, career advancement, leadership or job search issues.

May the close of 2010 also end any troubles, and 2011 bring many happy beginnings!

Terri, thanks for the kind words -- you made my day! I was going to write something similar to what Dave did but he beat me to it. Either one of us -- or anyone at ExecuNet -- would be happy to help further.

Terri,

Don't put your eggs in the "I need a recruiter to help with my search" basket. It is a mistake that many job hunters make.

Recruiters don't work for the job searcher, they work for and get paid by the employers and as such unless it is a very special circumstance, they invest little or not time trying to 'help' someone looking for a job.

Your best bet is to identiify companies where you would like to work, research the heck out of them so you know what the issues are that you can help them solve and then network your way into the company so you get the chance to tell them what you bring.

Easier said than done, but trying to help our members with learning how to do just that and providiing them with the tools to help them do it is one of the key things ExecuNet is all about.

Happy to discuss offline if you like.

Dave

Thank you Robin for emailing me great job tips/advice for the past two years. I have worked for Sysco Foods as a sales rep for over n 12 years and am now researching jobs in the publishing field/e books/on line classroom tools. If you can be of any help that would be great.

Your writing is uplifting and super informative! I need a recruiter to help with my search.
