Don’t Take a Job Search Holiday!

Every year around now, when Halloween has passed and Thanksgiving plans are being made, we hear members speculate about the health of the job market — there's a common belief that hiring pretty much comes to a halt for the holidays. That's really not the case.

The hiring process is in full swing this time of year. There are just as many active search assignments being worked on, so if you want to get on the interview slate, let others take a long break from their search while you actively amp up your networking!

Getting noticed is so challenging for job seekers today! Executives feel as though they could do the job if they were only given a chance and if a recruiter would simply call.

During a conversation recently with ExecuNet members, recruiter Tony Palmer, Director with leading global executive search firm StantonChase International, had some interesting things to say about that. He likened the characteristics of a thriving 8-foot tall rosebush on the side of his daughter's house to job seekers and the conditions needed to thrive.
